Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to ensure that Beyond Words CIC provides an inclusive, welcoming and respectful environment where every child, family, employee and visitor is valued and treated fairly.
Beyond Words is committed to promoting equality, celebrating diversity and fostering inclusion in every aspect of our work. - Founder & Director The Founder & Director is responsible for ensuring that:
- equality and inclusion are embedded throughout the organisation
- employees understand their responsibilities under this policy
- reasonable adjustments are considered and implemented where appropriate
- discriminatory behaviour is addressed promptly
- inclusive practice is monitored and reviewed
- promoting a culture of equality, diversity and inclusion throughout Beyond Words
- identifying training needs relating to equality, diversity and inclusion
- this policy is reviewed regularly
- Employees
Employees are responsible for:
- treating everyone with dignity and respect
- promoting inclusion in all activities
- adapting communication and teaching approaches to meet individual needs
- challenging discriminatory language or behaviour appropriately
- reporting concerns relating to discrimination, bullying or harassment
- maintaining high expectations for every child while recognising individual differences
- making reasonable adjustments where appropriate to support individual participation
- respecting the cultural, religious and personal beliefs of children, families and colleagues
Employees must ensure that all children have opportunities to participate meaningfully, with support tailored to their needs.
