A MESSAGE FROM THE FOUNDER
Hi, I'm Olivia.
Beyond Words was founded from a passion for ensuring that every autistic child and every child with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is understood, valued and given the opportunity to reach their full potential.
I deliberately set Beyond Words up as a CIC rather than an ordinary limited company. A LTD exists to share profit with owners. A CIC is legally locked to its community. That means any surplus we generate goes back into the work, more places for children, more support for parents, and a Tuition Centre families can actually afford. It matters to me that this is written into the structure, not just the mission.
Throughout my career as a specialist teacher, I have had the privilege of supporting incredible children and their families. I have seen first-hand the difference that patience, understanding, specialist knowledge and genuine relationships can make to a child's confidence, development and overall wellbeing.
Beyond Words is created to be more than just a summer club. It is created to build a community where children feel safe, families feel supported and every individual is recognised for their strengths rather than defined by their challenges.
Everything we do is guided by one simple question: "Is this the best decision for the child?" If the answer is yes, we know we are staying true to our purpose and the values that define Beyond Words.

HOW BEYOND WORDS IS RUN
A Community Interest Company, on paper and in practice.
CIC means Community Interest Company. It is a legal form that ties an organisation to a community purpose. I chose it because I wanted the promise to families to sit inside the paperwork, not just in what I say.
